Scenario Description

The main components of the textile stretching and shaping machine are the feeding device, the weft straightener, the chain, the oven body, and the fabric winding device. The shaping machine is fed into the machine by the edge stripper, and the machine automatically hooks the two ends of the fabric onto the needle plate. The two ends of the needle plate are pulled by the mechanical operation to enter the oven, where the oven is electrically heated and the fan blows air. After passing through several continuous constant temperature ovens at different temperature ranges, the tail end of the fabric is cooled to remove static electricity, and the swing falls into the fabric cart to obtain a neat and beautiful piece of fabric.

01Stretching process

The specific process is to apply a certain tensile force to the weft direction of the fabric, which can remove the defects such as uneven selvage, skewness of the weft yarn, and uneven width caused by the force during pre-treatment and dyeing processes. After this process, the surface quality of the fabric will be significantly improved.

02Shaping process

The specific process is to first set a suitable tension for the stretching and shaping machine, and then process the fabric. First, heat it to a certain temperature and then maintain it for a certain period of time. In this way, the fiber molecular chains will be readjusted in new positions. Afterwards, it is cooled at an appropriate rate to fix the state of the fabric during thermal changes.


Three elements of stretching and shaping process


When using a stretcher setting machine for heat setting, the control of temperature will determine the qualitative quality of the fabric. The degree to which ripples on the original surface of the fabric are eliminated after heat setting, the improvement of surface smoothness, the dimensional thermal stability, and other wearing properties of the fabric are closely related to the temperature of heat setting.


Before shaping, it is necessary to reach a certain temperature before proceeding, which requires heating. Therefore, setting time is another important process condition for the heat setting of the stretcher setting machine. After the fabric enters the heating zone, the time required for heating and shaping can be roughly divided into the following parts: heating time, heat penetration time, molecular adjustment time, and cooling time. In general, the control of the heat setting process quality of the stretching and shaping machine mainly refers to the control of heating time, heat penetration time, and molecular adjustment time, but does not include cooling time. If the term is seen as a preheating effect, then the setting time only refers to the time required for the second and third terms, that is, the time required for thermal infiltration and molecular adjustment. Overall, the quality of the heat setting process of the stretcher setting machine is mainly reflected in the control of the heating and heat penetration time required for fabrics with different factors such as performance, area, weight, fiber thermal conductivity, and moisture content during the setting process.


Due to the variation of tension on the surface of the fabric under certain conditions, it will affect the dimensional thermal stability, strength, and fracture elongation of the fabric. Especially in the heat setting process of the stretching and shaping machine, the thermal stability of the warp dimension increases with the increase of the warp overfeed during the shaping process, while the thermal stability of the weft dimension decreases with the increase of the stretching degree of the door.

So, by controlling the three factors of temperature, time, and tension, the quality of the process can be basically guaranteed when using a stretching and shaping machine for the shaping process.
